Strive bought 2,000 Bitcoin last week in its largest accumulation in four months, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The company paid an average of about $84,422 per coin between Sept. 28 and Oct. 2, putting the purchase at roughly $169 million. As of Oct. 2, Strive held 29,462 BTC, worth about $2.5 billion at an average market price near $86,000 per coin. The filing did not specify where the latest purchase funds came from. In recent weeks, however, Strive has raised most of its capital through sales of SATA, a preferred stock that pays holders regular dividends ahead of common shareholders. SATA accounted for 70% of capital in the week ending Sept. 4 and 85% in the week ending Sept. 25. Each share has a stated amount of $100, and Strive currently pays about 13% annually, with dividends paid every business day starting June 16. Strive’s average Bitcoin cost stood at $90,170 per coin at the end of September, above the roughly $86,000 level where Bitcoin traded Monday. Bitcoin Treasuries ranks Strive as the fifth-largest public corporate Bitcoin holder, behind Strategy, Twenty One Capital, Metaplanet, and MARA.

Strive Buys 2,000 Bitcoin for $169 Million, Lifting Holdings to 29,462 BTC 2

According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the publicly traded company paid an average of about $84,422 per coin between Sept. 28 and Oct. 2. That puts the purchase at roughly $169 million.

Holdings rose to 29,462 BTC

Strive’s previous larger buy came between May 23 and June, when it acquired 2,500 Bitcoin and lifted its total to 19,000 BTC.

As of Oct. 2, the company held 29,462 Bitcoin. At an average price of roughly $86,000 per coin, that stack is worth about $2.5 billion.

Strive is a Bitcoin treasury company, meaning it raises money from investors and allocates it to Bitcoin rather than cash. In September 2025, it agreed to acquire Semler Scientific, a healthcare technology firm that was holding roughly 5,000 Bitcoin at the time. Its Bitcoin balance has expanded since then.

Shareholders approved that deal in January, creating a combined stash of about 12,800 BTC. By late April, Strive held 14,557 Bitcoin. By mid-August, that figure had climbed to 20,246 BTC.

Funding mix and balance sheet

The market has moved higher since then. The report said last week’s average price was about 41% above the July figure, while the dollar value of Strive’s holdings has increased 48% since July 2.

The filing does not say where the money for this week’s purchase came from. In recent weeks, though, Strive has raised most of its capital by selling SATA, a type of preferred stock that pays holders regular dividends ahead of common shareholders.

SATA supplied 70% of capital in the week ending Sept. 4 and 85% in the week ending Sept. 25.

Each SATA share carries a stated amount of $100, and Strive currently pays about 13% annually. The rate is adjustable, and the company previously said it would begin paying dividends every business day on June 16.

In practical terms, investors give Strive cash, and Strive currently pays about $13 a year for every $100 share. Bitcoin itself does not generate interest, so those dividends must be funded from Strive’s cash or from additional capital raising. The filing lists $284.7 million in cash and no debt.

Cost basis and public-company ranking

The filing puts Strive’s average Bitcoin cost at $90,170 per coin at the end of September. That is above the roughly $86,000 level where Bitcoin traded Monday, leaving the position below cost on paper.

For investors who have not directly used crypto, Strive’s Nasdaq-listed stock offers Bitcoin exposure through a standard brokerage account. SATA, meanwhile, pays a dividend and is issued by a company holding nearly 30,000 Bitcoin.

According to Bitcoin Treasuries, Strive ranks fifth among public companies holding Bitcoin, behind Strategy, Twenty One Capital, Metaplanet, and MARA. Twenty One Capital holds 43,514 BTC, leaving Strive 14,052 coins behind it.
